There's a yummy pancake breakfast planned for the dining room of Birch Bay Village on Friday, August 23rd, from 7 to 11 AM in memory of Truth Young, who worked there for many years.

“As a Certified Nurses Assistant at BBV, Truth Young’s passion for service and helping others was inspirational and has inspired our staff to give back as well, “says Birch Bay’s Executive Director, Peter Sullivan.

“Truth was a very dependable employee. I did not even realize she was struggling with cancer. She never let it show until the very end. She would always show up to work with a smile,” shares former co-worker, Sally Jordan-Sprague.

On the menu are pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee. A donation of $5.00 per person is encouraged. There will also be a silent auction  with items including restaurant gift cards, designer handbags, artwork, handcrafted furniture and more.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Oncology Center at Mount Desert Island Hospital to assist with gas cards and travel expenses for cancer patients.
