Opening Day 2018 for the Red Sox Is Finally Here
For the 118th time the Boston Red Sox open the baseball season. This year, the Red Sox will send Chris Sale to the mound against Tampa Bay with the pregame starting at 3:15 and first pitch at 4PM. The game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA starting with the pregame at 3:15
The Red Sox are 58-58-1 on opening day. They have won their last 3 Opening Day games. The last time they won 4 Opening Days in a row was 1997-2000.
The Red Sox will have a new 2nd baseman in the field for opening day as Dustin Pedroia is starting the season on the disabled list. He has been the opening day 2nd baseman since 2006, 11 years in a row. Prior to that, from 1996-2006 the Red Sox used 10 different starters at 2nd.
