Police have released the identities of two people involved in an accident Tuesday in Orland that killed the passenger and sent the driver to jail.

State Police say the accident happened just after four o'clock on Cedar Swamp Road. 48-year-old Robert Cunningham lost control of the pickup truck on a left-hand corner, going off the left side of the road. Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the vehicle hit an embankment, eventually coming to rest on its wheels. At some point, his passenger, 50-year-old Valerie Seavey, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cunningham was taken to Hancock County Jail, charged with manslaughter, aggravated OUI, aggravated driving to endanger, and speeding 30 mph or more over the limit.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
