Oceanside Beats MDI 38-6 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans fell to the Oceanside Mariners on Friday, October 18th at Homecoming on Alumni Field in Bar Harbor, 38-6.

It was a tough night for the Trojans. Oceanside's defense smothered the Trojans, and the Trojans were held to -2 yards rushing while the Mariner's pass rush forced Trojan quarterback Baylor Landsman to scramble repeatedly, and he was forced to throw off-balance and while getting hit throughout the night.

The Mariners scored on their 1st 3 possessions before they fumbled on their 4th possession with Jack Hodgdon recovering the fumble. But they scored on their 5th possession and led 38-0 at the end of the 1st Half, scoring their final touchdown with no time remaining on a 19 yard pass from Karl Ilvonen to Dylan O'Reilly in the back of the end zone.

Much of the 2nd Half was played with running time, before MDI scored their lone touchdown, on a 35 yard touchdown pass from Landsman to Sam Mitchell with 5:29 remaining in the game.

MDI is 1-6 and will play their final regular season game on Friday, October 25th against the Belfast Lions on Senior Night. The pregame will begin at 6:40 with the kickoff at 7PM. The game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Oceanside 4-3 finishes the regular season at Medomak Valley on Friday, October 25th at 7PM.
