Nomination Papers Available for Bar Harbor Charter Commission

On November 6th, 2018 Bar Harbor residents will go to the polls. In addition to voting for a new Governor, and State Representative and Senator, Bar Harbor residents will vote whether to seat a Charter Commission. If passed by the voters, the Charter Commission will have limited authority to study the Town Charter and recommend any Charter amendments or revisions that the Commission believes to be advisable.

Nomination papers are now available in the Bar Harbor Town Clerk’s office for the election of six seats to a Charter Commission.  Deadline for filing nomination papers is Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 5:00 PM.

Any resident who has been registered to vote for one year prior to the election is eligible for the Charter Commission. For more information, please contact the Town Clerk at 207-288-4098
