After a nationwide search, the Committee from the Acadia Night Sky Festival has chosen this year's winning entry,  and it's no other than Tony Palumbo's! Palumbo runs the I Love Bar Harbor Maine Facebook Group, a group with almost 6500 members.

According to the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce's press release

"The winning image is of the iconic Bass Harbor Lighthouse, which sits atop the rocky western coast of Mount Desert Island, with a breathtaking view of the Milky Way in its composition. More than 20 photographers and artists submitted their original work capturing the night skies over Acadia and Downeast Maine, but Palumbo’s work stood out.

A life-long resident of New Jersey, Tony has adopted Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island as his home away from home. “I exist in New Jersey, but live here,” said Palumbo. “My first visit to Mount Desert Island was in 1988 and I have been a yearly return visitor ever since.”  An avid hiker, kayaker, and history and photography enthusiast, Tony considers Mount Desert Island a perfect combination of everything he loves.:
