Moreland Heads Back to Injured List

The Boston Red Sox put 1st baseman back on the Injured List, Saturday morning, less than 24 hours after activating him from the list. The cause this time was a right quad strain.

To replace Moreland, the Red Sox recalled infielder Marco Hernandez from Triple A Pawtucket.

The Red Sox also recalled right handed pitcher Josh Smith as the club's 26th man for today's day/night doubleheader. Under MLB rules, clubs are allowed to add a 26th man when playing a doubleheader.

The Red Sox will play a day/night doubleheader against the Rays on Saturday. The pregames begin at 12:05 and 5:10. Hear the games on AM 1370 WDEA in the Ellsworth and Bar Harbor area and The Rock 101.9 FM, WOZI in Presque Isle
