Earlier in June, the National Park Service planned on resurfacing 13 miles of the 45 mile Carriage Road System in Acadia National Park.Because that work has been completed ahead of schedule, they are planning on resurfacing an additional 8 miles this season.

Work will be done on the Witch Hill Loop and its connectors between intersections 1 through 6 and the Aunt Betty Pond Carriage Road between intersections 9 and 11.

These intersections will be closed on a rolling basis during weekdays from 7AM to 5 PM from July 6th through 21st. The roads will be open at all other times including the weekends.

Park patrons should be aware of equipment and materials stored on the carriage roads and trucks traveling to and from the work sites.
