Bad news for Red Sox fans! Mookie Betts who's been out of the lineup since May 27th was placed on the 10 Day Disabled List today, June 1st, retroactive to May 29th with a left abdominal strain. That means the soonest he would be eligible to play would be June 8th against the Chicago White Sox.

In 48 games this season, Mookie has hit .359 with 19 doubles, 1 triple, 17 home runs and 37 RBIs. Entering tonight's game against the Astros, Betts was leading all major league players in batting average, slugging percentage (.750), OPS (1.187), runs scored (52), extra base hits (37) and total bases (138)

The Red Sox plan on making a corresponding move adding someone to the roster on Saturday
