Bar Harbor held its 2018 Memorial Day observances on the pier at 10AM on Monday, May 28th.

The Emerson Band played patriotic music before the ceremonies and then the National Anthem. There were opening remarks by Barbara MacPike and a prayer by Chaplain Norma Spurling. The keynote speaker was Paul Paradis. Nicholas Roos from Boy Scout Troop 89 read "Decoration Day" and then Representative Louis Luchini spoke. Adam Losquadro from Troop 89 read "In Flanders Fields" and then Barbara MacPike read the list of Bar Harbor servicemen and women who died in service of our country in World War I. There was the laying of the wreath and "Taps" by Trumpeter Brian Booher.
