MDI Trojans Defeat Nokomis Warriors In Class B Quarterfinal

The #3 MDI Trojans beat the #6 Nokomis Warriors 6-2 in a Class B North Quarterfinal at MDI High School in Bar Harbor on Thursday, June 11th.

Preston Tripp pitched a complete game for the Trojans, He allowed 8 hits and 2 runs, striking out 3 and walking 1, pulling a Houdini act with the help of teammates to escape trouble in the 1st 2 innings.

Seth Bowden took the loss for the Warriors. He pitched 2 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, walking 1. Owen Russell pitched 4 innings of relief. He allowed 4 hits and 2 runs, striking out 5 and walking 2

Preston Tripp was 2-4, with a double and drove in 2 runs leading off, to help himself at the plated. Colin Sullivan had a triple, and was 1-3, driving in a run. Cameron Graham was 3-4 with a run batted in. Alister Frongillo was 1-3 with a triple and a run batted in. Ben Ingram was 2-4 with a run batted in. Eli Macdonnell was 1-3.

MDI swiped 3 bases with Graham, Spencer Grierson and Tysen Mace each stealing a bag.

Seth Bowden was 2-3 with a double for Nokomis. Owen Menard was 2-3 with a double. Owen Russell had a single and drove in a run. Owen Buck, Caden Chretien, and Maddox Hawthorne each singled for the Warriors.

Owen Buck had a stolen base.
