MDI Tops GSA 9-2 in Exhibition Baseball April 18th [PHOTOS]
The MDI Trojans Baseball Team played their final exhibition game of the Spring, defeating George Stevens Academy 9-2 in Bar Harbor on Patriot's Day, April 18th
The Trojans held the Eagles to just 1 hit, that coming off of the bat of C. Walden.
Quentin Pileggi started on the mound for MDI going 2.0 innings. He didn't allow a hit, striking out 4 and walking 2.
Noah Keeley followed, throwing 2 innings. He didn't allow a hit, striking out 1 and walking 3.
AJ Lozano pitched the 5th and 6yh innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 run. He struck out 3
Logan Blanchette pitched the 7th for the Trojans, allowing 1 run, while walking 1 and striking out 1.
Sol Lorio started for GSA and went 3.2 innings allowing 3 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 4 and walked 3.
Pileggi and Keeley each doubled for MDI. Isaac MacDonnell, Nick Jacobs, Joey Wellman-Clouse, Jay Haney and Logan Blanchette each singled for the Trojans.
MDI swiped 6 bases with Alex Gray leading the way with 2. Brendan Graves, Jacob Shields, Joey Wellman-Clouse and Jay Haney all stole a base.
MDI opens the regular season on Saturday, April 23rd hosting a double-header with the Presque Isle Wildcats.
GSA opens the season on Wednesday, April 20th at Sumner Memorial High School.
