The MDI Baseball Team swept the Caribou Vikings Saturday afternoon, May 27th in Bar Harbor winning the 1st game 9-1 and then shutting out the Vikings in the 2nd game 7-0.

In the 1st Game Seth Clark went 6.0 innings for MDI for the win, allowing 4 hits, 1 run and striking out 12 while walking 1. Derek Collin pitched a scoreless 7th in relief for MDI.

For Caribou Spencer McDuffie was 2-2 with 2 singles, while Camden Huck had a double and Alex Ezzy had a single. Caribou's lone run came in the top of the 4th inning.

MDI plated 5 in the 2nd, 1 in the 4th and 5th inning and 2 in the 6th inning.

Camden Huck took the loss for Caribou going 4.2 innings, allowing 7 runs on 10 hits and striking out 3 while walking 1. Josh Quist came on in relief, pitching the final 1.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 1 hit and walking 1.

At the plate for the Trojans Stanley Grierson was 3-4 with a triple, double and single. Jacob Mitchell and Riley Swanson were each 2-2, with Mitchell having a double and single and Swanson knocking 2 singles. Drew Shea, Mac Shea, Andrew Kennedy and Fin McConomy each had a single for the Trojans.

Grierson, Mac Shea and McConomy all stole a base.

In the 2nd game Andrew Kennedy pitched a complete game for the win, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 6 while not allowing a walk.

Alex Ezzy, Josh Quist and Zachary Whitten each had a single for Caribou.

MDI scored 1 run in the bottom of the 5th inning and 6 in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Josh Quist took the loss for the Vikings throwing 5 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run while walking 2 and striking out 2. Brennan Poitras pitched 1 inning in relief allowing 6 runs on 4 hits.

Matt Perconti was 2-3 with 2 singles for MDI. Alden Fournier, Stanley Grierson, Aaron Snurkowski and Riley Swanson each had a single.

MDI is now 9-5 with 2 games remaining in the regular season, a game at Ellsworth on Wednesday May 31 at 3:30 and then home against Old Town on Senior Day on Thursday, June 1 at 4:30 PM.

Caribou is 2-13 with 1 game remaining, home against Presque Isle on Wednesday, May 31st at 4;30 PM.
