MDI Softball Loses to Bucksport 6-3
The MDI Trojans lost their opening game to the Bucksport Golden Bucks in Bucksport, Wednesday April 18th by the score of 6-3. Haley Littlefield took the loss for MDI, giving up six earned runs, allowing 7 hits, walking 2 and striking out 4. Cassidy Adams got the win for Bucksport, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, walking 1 while striking out 13.

Hannah Shaw went 2-3 with a double scoring 2 runs for MDI. Avalon Kerley went 1-3 hitting a triple, scoring a run and knocking in a run for MDI. Molly Carroll and Deandra Kanu each had a RBI for MDI. Shelby O'Neil, Sierra Myrick, Molly Carroll, Meghan Catanese and Deandra Kanu each had a hit for the Trojans.
Jen Pye, and Kim Nason knocked in 2 runs each for Bucksport, and Kacie Hurd added a RBI Hurd was 2-3 at the plate. Pye and Nason each had a double. Andie Lawford, Bri Bires and Alanna Davis had singles for Bucksport.
MDI 0-1 on the season will play host to Presque Isle (0-2) on Saturday, April 20 in a doubleheader. Bucksport (1-0) plays next at Dexter (1-0) on Saturday
