MDI Shocks Ellsworth 1-0

The MDI Trojan Soccer Team came into the game against the Ellsworth Eagles on Monday, September 18th at Del Luce Stadium 0-5, having lost 4 of the games by a single goal. They came away with their 1st victory of the season, shocking the Ellsworth Eagles 1-0 and earned a huge Heal Point worthy win.

The game was scoreless for the first 76 minutes. With about 3:45 remaining in regulation, senior Owen Mild put his own blocked shot in the near post under the Ellsworth goalkeeper from outside the 6 yard line.

That was the sole goal.

Ellsworth had 9 shots and 4 saves, MDI had 4 shots and 9 saves.

MDI, now 1-5 will play at Presque Isle on Saturday, September 23rd at 3:00 PM.

Ellsworth now 3-3-1 travels to Washington Academy on Wednesday, September 20th at 4 PM.
