The MDI Trojans advanced to the Class C North Semifinals after defeating the John Bapst Crusaders 36-6 on Friday night October 27th in Bar Harbor and will play Oceanside next Friday night, November 3rd in Bar Harbor, after Oceanside the 5th seed upset the 4th seed Hermon Hawks 40-33.

In Bar Harbor, John Bapst won the opening toss and elected to defer, giving MDI the ball to start the game.,The Trojans ended up fumbling and John Bapst took over on ther MDI 49 yard line with 10:13 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

But, John Bapst who were driving ended up fumbling on the MDI 5 yard line where it was recovered by Andrew Phelps, and the Trojans had the ball with 8:07 left in the 1st Quarter.

MDI scored on the drive, on a 25 yard pass from Phelps to a wide open Sam Hoff, a drive took 2:31. Colby Lee ran in for the 2 point conversion, and MDI was up 8-0 with 5:36 left in the 1st Quarter.

After the Crusaders took over at their own 35 yard line, they were forced to punt, and MDI took over at their own 24 yard line with 3:14 remaining in the 1st Quarter. MDI scored again, this time on a pass play from Phelps to Abrahm Malloy. a 45 yard pass. . The drive took 4:50 and the 2 point conversion was no good. With 10:28 remaining in the 1st Half, MDI was up 14-0.

John Bapst took over on their own 27 yard line, and drove the length of the field. a drive that took 3:18. Logan Dempsey was in the end zone after a 14 yard pass from JJ Higgins. The 2 point conversion was no good, and with 7:06 remaining in the 1st Half, John Bapst was on the scoreboard, trailing 14-6.

MDI took over on their own 31 yard line. The Trojans drove down the field and Croix Albee was tackled at the 1 yard line, fumbling the ball. Sam Hoff recovered in the end zone, but the officiating crew put the ball back at the 1 yard line. One play later Albee scored, and the 2 point conversion was good as Malloy juggled a pass and maintained possession while getting both feet in the end zone. That made the score 22-6 at the end of the 1st Half.

MDI had 165 yards rushing and 90 yards in the air in the 1st Half. The Crusaders had 65 yards rushing and 46 yards passing.

John Bapst took over on their own 36 yard line in the 2nd Quarter. Colby Lee picked off JJ Higgins' pass, and the Trojans had the ball first and 10 at their own 48 yard line. The Trojans drove down the field eating up 6:24 and Croix Albee scored again for MDI. Albee ran in for the 2 point conversion and with 40.8 seconds left in the 3rd Quarter MDI was up 30-6.

John Bapst took over on their own 43 yard line and proceeded to fumble the ball. Two plays later, Billy Kerley ran in from 40 yards out. The 2 point conversion was no good and the Trojans led 36-6 which wrapped up the scoring.

MDI is now 8-1 and will play Oceanside, 6-3, Friday November 3rd. John Bapst finishes the season 3-6.
