MDI Hospital issues Coronavirus updates every Wednesday. Here's their latest update as of Wednesday March 10th

As of Wednesday, March 10th, MDI Hospital has confirmed 69 cases of COVID-19 of Hancock County residents and 8 cases for non-Hancock County residents. This is an increase of 5 cases since March 3rd.

There's been quite a bit of interest in the pace of vaccinations. Here's how many MDI Hospital has administered

  • March 10 - 4114 doses (increase of 1556 since February 24)
  • February 24 - 2558 doses (Increase of 280)
  • February 17 - 2278 doses (Increase of 410)
  • February 10 - 1868 doses

Of the 4114 doses that MDI Hospital has administered, 2796 have gone to 1st time recipients and 1318 to those who have received their final dose.

MDI Hospital is limited in the amount of vaccines that they are receiving.

If you are over 60 and had pre-registered for receipt of the vaccine you should have received an email from the hospital. If you are over 70 and haven't received the first vaccine, and want to receive it, please email covidvaccine@mdihospital.org to request an appointment

Under the new Federal policy, participants in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program – which includes certain Hannaford, Walgreens and Walmart pharmacies in Maine – are now directed to give access to available appointments exclusively to school staff and licensed child care workers. Existing appointments for those aged 60 and over at these pharmacies will remain active. School staff and child care workers should first check the websites of retail pharmacy partners for vaccine availability. A listing of Maine’s vaccination sites and retail pharmacies can be found here
