MDI High School Principal Matt Haney announced a schedule change because of transportation issues. He sent the following letter today, September 22nd

MDIHS Students and Families,

I am writing to notify you that the schedule for the begin of in person learning has changed.  Due to complications related to the Cyr Bus company, which provides transportation to Bar Harbor and Trenton students we are forced to postpone our on campus learning plans to next week.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work with Cyr to hammer out the final details of their bus routes.  Our new plan is as follows:

  • Freshman orientation day will now be Monday, September 28th.  This is in person on campus for those students who have chosen the in person option.
  • Tuesday, September 29th will be the first day of hybrid learning.  Tuesday will be in person for FRESHMEN ONLY.
  • Wednesday, September 30th will be remote as typically planned with the experiential classes happening in person.  Teachers of these classes will continue to communicate directly with their students with details.
  • Thursday, October 1st will be the first day of hybrid learning for ALL in person students, grades 9-12.

Again, thank you so much for your patience as we work out the details.  For the rest of this week, we will remain in a remote setting, with the typical class schedule resuming on Thursday.
