MDI High School was briefly evacuated early Monday morning, December 20th. Principal Matt Haney sent out the following notice

"Good morning MDIHS community,
Due to an alarm malfunction at approximately 8:45 we followed our safety plan and evacuated the building.  The Bar Harbor Fire Department arrived quickly and was able to determine that the building was safe to occupy.  Shortly after 9:00 we were able to return to the building.
As you know, it is very cold this morning.  While we waited for the fire department to clear the building we began moving the students onto buses and into outbuildings to stay warm.  We had just begun this process in earnest when we got the all clear to return to the building.

Thank you for your support in our efforts to keep our children safe."
