MDI Girl’s Soccer Nips EHS 1-0

The Ellsworth Girls Soccer Team is much improved and they gave the MDI Trojans a game on Tuesday, September 19th at Del Luce Stadium in Ellsworth, before MDI came away with the 1-0 victory.

Sophomore striker Daisy Granholm scored the lone goal of the game beating the Eagle's defense and converted on a breakaway with 10:49 remaining in the 1st Half.

Ellsworth nearly tied the game with 2 minutes left in the game, but Rachelle Swanson made a goal line save for MDI to help preserve the win.

MDI's Cassia Barnes made 6 saves on 7 shots while Ellsworth's Kyle Robidoux stopped 9 of 13 shots.

MDI is 3-2-1 and travels to Presque Isle on Saturday, to play the Wildcats September 23rd at 1 PM.

Ellsworth is 1-5 and plays at Washington Academy on Thursday, September 21st at 5 PM.
