MDI Girls Soccer Beats Old Town 3-2

The MDI Girls Soccer Team defeated Old Town 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in Bar Harbor. Daisy Granholm scored a hat trick to lead the Trojans.

Granholm started the scoring 6 minutes into the game with a lofting shot over the Coyote goalkeeper Mikaela Kenny.

Old Town's Oliviah Damboise scored the equalizer a minute later, with an asist from Saige Philip.

Granholm scored her 2nd goal of the game, beating Old Town's defense down the left side of the field with 15:52 remaining in the 1st Half.

Granholm completed the hat trick converting a penalty kick with 7:56 remaining in the 1st Half. That made the score 3-1 MDI.

Old Town narrowed the score when Damboise scored her 2nd goal of the game with 21:22 remaining in the 2nd Half.

Cassia Barnes made 6 saves on 13 shots for MDI while Old Town's Kenny stopped 7 of 16 shots.

MDI, 2-1 plays host to GSA Thursday, September 14th at 6 PM

Old Town 0-2 plays host to Orono on Wednesday, September 13th at 3:30.
