Anytime that Ellsworth and MDI meet, no matter what the sport, you can throw out the records and prepare for a hard fought game. Such was the case when the Trojans and Eagles met at Del Luce Stadium in Ellsworth on Thursday, October 10th.

Ellsworth had a chance to take an early lead with minutes gone when they were awarded a penalty kick, when they were fouled in the box. But the PK went wide, and the score was 0-0 through the end of the 1st Half.

The game remained scoreless until MDI scored the lone goal of the game with 3:45 remaining in regulation. Lelia Weir delivered a corner into the box and Daisy Granholm headed it into the net.

Kayla Duhaime was in goal for Ellsworth while Sabine Costello-Sanders was in net for the Trojans. Both goalkeepers played lights out.

MDI is now 10-1 and will play at unbeaten Hermon on Monday, October 14th at 1:30

Ellsworth is 5-6 and plays at MCI on Saturday, October 12th at 1PM
