The MDI Trojan Football Team traveled to Husson University to take on the John Bapst Crusaders on Friday, October 11th, losing to John Bapst 21-0 in the Crusader's homecoming game.

John Bapst won the opening toss, electing to defer, and MDI received the opening kickoff, returning it to their own 42 yard line. The Trojans went 3 and out, and were forced to punt.

John Bapst took over at their own 17 yard line, and moved the ball down the field, before fumbling it in Trojan territory, and the Trojans took over at their own 26 yard line with 7:40 left in the 1st Quarter.

The Trojans were unable to get a 1st down, and again were forced to punt, with the Crusaders taking over at their own 24 yard line with 5:51 left in the 1st Quarter.

John Bapst marched down the field, and were in the end zone with Wilson Higgins completing a 12 yard pass to Rhett McDonald,. The drive took 7 plays and 2:30. Max Chadwick kicked the extra point and John Bapst led 7-0 with 3:21 left in the 1st Quarter.

MDI took over at their own 20 yard line and thanks to a quick slant pass from Baylor Landsman to Sam Keblinsky that went for 67 yards, the Trojans were threatening. But then Chadwick picked off Landsman's pass and the Crusaders had the ball at their own 42 yard line with 20 seconds remaining in the 1st Quarter.

MDI's defense forced John Bapst to punt, and the Trojans took over at their own 10 yard line with 10:28 remaining in the 1st Half.

Again MDI's offense was forced to punt after getting the ball to their own 32 yard line, with John Bapst taking over at their own 42 yard line with 7:20 remaining in the 1st Half.

MDI's defense forced a Crusader punt, and MDI took over on their own 40 yard line with 4:55 remaining in the 1st Half. The Trojans took the ball down to the 28 yard line of John Bapst, but then fumbled, and the Crusaders took over at their own 31 yard line with 2:45 remaining in the 1st Half.

MDI's defense forced another John Bapst punt and the Trojans took over at the Crusader 30 yard line with 58.3 seconds left.

MDI went 3 and out, with John Bapst taking over at their own 30 yard line with 37.7 seconds left.

The Crusaders took a knee, and the 1st Half ended with John Bapst leading MDI 7-0 MDI had 54 yards rushing in the 1st Half while John Bapst had 99 yards rushing.

John Bapst took over at their own 45 yard line to start the 3rd Quarter. MDI's defense forced the Crusaders to punt and MDI took over at their own 25 yard line.

Again the Trojans were forced to punt, and John Bapst took over at their own 47 yard line with 8:09 left in the 3rd Quarter.

John Bapst moved the ball down to the Trojan 15 yard line where they turned the ball over on downs, with 5:21 left in the 3rd Quarter.

MDI's offense was ineffective and the Trojans were forced to punt, with the Crusaders taking over at the MDI 49 yard line with 3:50 left in the 3rd Quarter.

John Bapst moved the ball down the field. A drive that took 7 plays and 3:26 was culminated by Higgins throwing a 7 yard pass to Quinn Mitchell for the score. Chadwick's point after was good, and John Bapst led 14-0 with 20.7 seconds  left in the 3rd Quarter.

MDI took over at their own 11 yard line, but could only get as far as their own 33 yard line. William Hodgdon's punt was blocked and the Crusaders took over at the Trojan 20 yard line.

4 plays later Colby Brown rumbled in from 1 yard out for the touchdown. The drive took 4 plays and 1:25. Chadwick's extra point was good and John Bapst led 21-0.

MDI was forced to punt again and John Bapst took over at the MDI 20 after a 30 yard punt return. The Trojan's defense held, forcing John Bapst to attempt a field goal which was no good.

MDI took over at their own 20 yard line. John Bapst intercepted Landsman for the 2nd time and took the knee for the win.

MDI is now 1-5 and will return home to play Oceanside at Homecoming on Friday, October 18th. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on our free downloadable APP, on any Alexa enabled device and online on WDEA Internet Radio. The pregame will start at 6:40 with the kickoff at 7PM.

John Bapst, 4-2 will play host to Houlton on Friday, October 18th at 7PM at Husson University.
