The MDI Football Team fell to the Old Town Coyotes 26-14 at Victory Field in Old Town on Friday, September 20th.

Old Town won the toss and elected to defer, choosing to receive the ball in the 2nd Half. The Coyotes attempted an onside kick to start the game, but MDI recovered on their own 49 yard line.

The Trojans were able to move the ball as far as the Coyote 42 yard line, but were forced to punt and Old Town took over at their own 19 yard line with 8:41 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

The Coyotes went 3 and out, punting, with MDI taking over on their own 29 yard line with 7:04 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

MDI then ran 4 plays before Sam Mitchell galloped for 64 yards fumbling into the end zone. The referee ruled he was down on the 1 yard line, with MDI keeping possession of the ball on the 1 yard line. Baylor Landsman then ran into the end zone, a drive that took 5 plays, and 3:36. The 2 point conversion was good and MDI led 8-0 with 4:30 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

Old Town then took over at their own 40 yard line and marched down the field in an 11 play drive, culminated by a 4 yard pass from Sam Magoon to Trey Dorr. The 2-point conversion was no good, and MDI led 8-6 with 9:26 left in the 1st Half. The drive took 6:59

MDI took over on their own 39 yard line and moved the ball effectively down the field, but on the Old Town 25 yard line, Landsman was picked off and the Coyotes took over at their own 22 yard line with 5:17 remaining in the 1st Half.

Old Town then marched down the field, a 7 play drive taking 3:50. Magoon's pass to Colin Rutherford of 29 yards resulted in a touchdown. The 2 point conversion was no good and the Coyotes led 12-8.

That score stood through the rest of the 1st Half, with both teams trading punts.

In the 2nd Half, MDI kicked off and Old Town took over at their own 33 yard line. 2 plays later Porter Isaacs picked off Magoon and the Trojans were in business form the Old Town 17 yard line.

After Landsman was injured Bill Hodgdon went in as quarterback and scored form 6 yards out. The drive took 4 plays and 1:50. The 2-point conversion was no good and with 8:48 remaining in the 3rd Quarter, MDI had regained the lead 14-12.

Old Town took over on the MDI 48 yard line after a personal foul for a late hit. The Coyotes went down the field, in a 9 play drive taking 5:01 capped off by a Magood 1 yard touchdown run. The 2 point conversion was good from Magoon to Ethan Hayes and the Coyotes were up 20-14.

MDI effectively moved the ball in their next series, including a 33 yard pass from Hodgon to AJ Lozano, but evenutally had to punt.

OId Town took over on their 14 yard line and used a 9 play drive taking 6:49 off the clock before Hayes ran in from 4 yards out. The 2 point conversion was no good. Old Town led 26-14 and that ended up being the final score.
