MDI Boys Beat Foxcroft Academy 81-61 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Boys Basketball Team beat Foxcroft Academy 81-61 on Tuesday, February 5th in Bar Harbor at Bernard Parady Gymnasium. It was the last home regular season game, and Senior Recognition Night.

MDI jumped out to a 22-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter, with the Trojans hitting 4 3's in the Quarter. Brett Duley had 7 points with a  3-pointer. Kyle Nicholson had 2 3's for 6 points. Eli Parady scored 4 points, Drew Shea had a 3-pointer and Porter Isaacs 2 points. For the Ponies Matthew Spooner had a 3-pointer and Jeremy Richards and Lucas Ames each had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Foxcroft Academy outscored MDI 18-12 to cut MDI's lead to 9 points, 34-25 at the end of the 1st Quarter. The Ponies had 5 3's in the Quarter. Richard had 8 points with 2 3's. Jed Dean, Matthew Spooner and Lucas Ames each had a 3-pointer and Hyatt Smith was 1-2 from the free throw line. For MDI Parady, and Shea had 4 points each, while Isaacs and Derek Collin each had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI outscored Foxcroft Academy 24-19 to take a 58-44 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter.  Brett Duley scored 12 points in the 3rd Quarter witha  3-pointer. Derek Collin had 6 points and Drew Shea, Eli Parady and Porter Isaacs had 2 points each. For the Ponies Richard had 12 points with 2 3's. Matthew Spooner had a 3-pointer and Hyatt Smith and Lucas Ames each had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Jack DaCorte scored his first varsity points for MDI, finishing with 2 points. Eli Parady had 6 points, Brett Duley had 5 points with his third 3-pointer of the game. Derek Collin had 5 points and Kyle Nicholson scored his third 3-pointer. Brennan Hubbard scored 2 points. For Foxcroft academy Richard had 7 points with his 5th 3-pointer of the night. Jed Dean had 2 more 3's and Sam Harmon-Weeks also scored a 3-pointer.

MDI was led by Brett Duley with 24 points. Eli Parady had 16 points and Derek Collin finished with 13 points.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Jeremy Richard with a game high 30 points.

MDI, now 12-5 is in 3rd place in the Class B North Heal Points and will finish 3rd in the regular season. They close out the season on Thursday, February 7th in Ellsworth against the Eagles. That game will tipoff at 7PM with the pregame starting at 6:30 on on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device

Foxcroft Academy finishes the regular season at 7-11 and will play in a prelim game on Wednesday, February 13th.
