MDI Boys at Ellsworth – Wednesday February 8

Tonight's boys basketball game between the MDI Trojans and Ellsworth Eagles at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth is of huge significance to both schools for very different reasons.

Ellsworth is 17-0 sitting atop the Northern Maine Class B Heal Point Standings. They are looking to send off their Seniors with a win, to remain unbeaten and set the tone for Tourney 2023. Ellsworth is averaging 65.4 points per game in their 17 games, while only allowing 40 points per game.

MDI and Ellsworth met back on December 14th with Ellsworth winning in Bar Harbor 84-50.

MDI starts the day with a 5-11 record. They are in the 12th and final playoff spot in the Class B North Heal Point Standings. A win against Ellsworth or on the road at Washington Academy on Friday, could vault MDI up into the 8-9th spot.
