The MDI Trojans Baseball Team split a doubleheader in Caribou on Friday, April 26th, losing the 1st game 5-4 before turning around and winning the 2nd game by the identical score 5-4.

In Game 1, the Trojans were leading 4-2 before Caribou scored 3 runs to win on a walk-off 5-4.

Sam Mitchell took the loss for MDI, allowing 5 runs, all earned while striking out 4 and giving up 11 hits. He didn't walk a batter.

Wyatt Tagget pitched the complete game for the win for Caribou. He allowed 10 hits, and 4 earned runs. He struck out 2 and walked 2.

Drew Shea was 3-3 with 2 doubles to lead MDI's hitting attack. Sam Keblinsky had 2 hits with a double. Nick Corson had a double. Logan Beckwith, Brady Renault, Grady Wellman-Webster and Quentin Pileggi each had a single. Drew Shea and Andre Lozano each had a stolen base.

For Caribou Jacob Berkoski had 2 doubles. Hayden Hunter, Noah Hixon and Mason Patten each had 2 singles.. Cullin Caverhill had a single.

In the 2nd game MDI was trailing 4-1 after the 4th inning before scoring 2 runs in the 6th and 2 runs in the 7th to come away with the 5-4 win.

Quentin Pileggi started the game for the Trojans and went 4 innings, allowing the 4 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 2 and walked 3. Logan Beckwith won the game in relief, throwing 2 scoreless, hitless innings. He did walk 3 while striking out 3.

Caribou used 4 pitchers in the 2nd game. Sebastian Marquis started, going 2.2 innings. He eadidn't allow a hit but walked 4. Caleb Espling threw 3 innings allowing 3 hits and 3 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 1. Riley Bouchard went .2 innings, striking out 1. Ghent Durepo took the loss giving up 2 hits and 2 runs while walking 1 and striking out 1 before recording the final out in the 7th inning.

MDI had 5 hits in Game 2. Sam Mitchell had 2 hits, including a double. Quentin Pileggi helped his own cause wit a double. Sam Keblinsky, and Nick Corson each had a single.  Renault, Mitchell, Stephen Gilbert and Kyle Nicholson each had a stolen base.

Caribou had 4 singles in game 2. Cullen Caverhill, Hayden Hunter, Jacob Berkoski and  Sebastian Marquis had the Viking's hits. Caribou swiped 7 bases. Hunter had 2 and Alex Ezzy, Marquis, Mason Patten and Wyatt Taggett each had a stolen base

MDI is now 2-2 on the season and are scheduled to play host to Hermon Tuesday, April 30th at 4:20

Caribou is 3-2 and will play host to Hermon on Saturday, May 4th.
