MDI Baseball Beats MCI 2-0 in Prelim [PHOTOS]

The #5 seeded MDI Trojans beat the #12 seeded MCI Huskies on Tuesday afternoon in Bar Harbor, 2-0 to advance to the Quarterfinals.

MDI's Sam Mitchell outdueled MCI's Joseph Curtis on the mound. Both pitchers went the distance, with Mitchell allowing 6 hits and striking out 7 and walking 1. Curtis allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, striking out 10 and walking 2.

Porter Isaacs had a single and drove in both runs. Quentin Pileggi had a double and Jay Haney had a single.

For MCI Max Bottenfield had a triple and single. Nason Berthelette and Joseph Curtis each had a double. Kaythean Martinez and Elijah Bagley each singled for the Huskies

MDI will advance to play the winner of the #4 Belfast Lions-#13 Nokomis Warriors prelim game. If Belfast won, then MDI will play at Belfast, while if the Warriors upset the Lions, the Quarterfinal game will be held in Bar Harbor.
