Martin Luther King Jr. Day March in Bar Harbor – Monday January 20

Do you have Martin Luther King Jr. Day off from school or work? There will be a March in his honor on Monday, January 20th in Bar Harbor.

The March begins at 11 a.m. in front of YWCA MDI at 36 Mount Desert Street in Bar Harbor. Marchers will walk from the YWCA down High Street, turn right onto Cottage Street, turn right onto Main Street, and cross the Village Green to return to the YWCA.

The road will be closed to vehicles, but a bus will be available for those with limited mobility. The March concludes at the YWCA with a reception and light refreshments, closing remarks, and resources for community education and dialogue about Dr. King's work.

Organization and participation in this event are open to the public, with a special invitation to the young people of Hancock County and Mount Desert Island
