A 24-year old man was charged with murder after his 3 1/2 month old son died at the hospital of multiple injuries.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Eugene 'Charlie' Martineau of Standish was taken to the Cumberland County Jail after his arrest in Portland at around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. He is charged with murder for the death of 3 1/2 month old Leo Josephs, who died Saturday at Maine Medical Center. The baby was taken to the hospital on Wednesday. His mother is 21-year-old Julia Josephs. The couple had been living at 180 Bonny Eagle Road in Standish.

Martineau will make his first court appearance Monday in Cumberland County Superior Court. The investigation was conducted by the State Police and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
