Dr. Marc Gousse, the Superintendent of AOS 91 and MDI Regional Schools sent the following letter to parents and families on Friday, September 10th regarding a potential COVID outbreak at the high school.

Dear Parents and Families,
This message is to inform you MDIHS administration has identified a potential outbreak of COVID-19 at Mount Desert Island High School.  An outbreak means there are three or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 within a 14-day period that are epidemiologically linked.  We have contacted the Maine CDC to begin an investigation to determine next steps.
Out of an abundance of caution we are canceling all extracurricular activities this weekend.
We are currently investigating to determine close contacts and families will be notified if their child is determined to be a close contact.
Please expect an update by Sunday evening. Thank you, please stay safe.
Marc Edward Gousse, Ed.D.
