Stephen King Movie ‘It’ has a Prop You can Buy On eBay Right Now

I'm not much of a collector.

I suppose one could argue that I collect drum stuff, but I use it all. none of it sits on a shelf, or behind glass or anything like that. I hit all of it. But beyond that, I can't say that I collect anything specific as a hobby. But some people take that sort of thing very seriously. There's a woman in Southern Maine who has a world-record collection of umbrella sleeves. Which proves you can be passionate about literally anything.

To that point, I'm always a bit flabbergasted at what people will pay for things they deem collectible. I have a friend who has a million pairs of sneakers. All the same. Most of which he doesn't even wear. I've seen what vintage Jordan's cost. Nobody should be judging me for some of my snare drum purchases.

People can be super passionate about their movie memorabilia.

Movies can stir up an endless pile of emotions in people. some folks can hyper-focus on it and begin collecting very specific, or very random things to build their collections. Sometimes it's all about one actor, or all about one movie. And Stephen King fans are some of the most fired-up fans there are.

Fanatics will collect his books, movie posters... anything with his name on it. If you happen to be one of those folks, then you may have already seen this eBay listing. It features a prop from the movie "It" that was actually used in a scene. You can buy it right now, but it's gonna hurt a bit to hit the buy button.

It's a fake rubber rock. And it's $1200.

It's about the size of baseball and the headline reads: Extremely Rare! Stephen King IT Original Screen Used Rock Derry Movie Prop. While I agree it's rare, it's still a rock. Well, fake rock. But that's on purpose. After all, it was used in a scene where there was a full-on rock war. You can't have kids throwing real rocks at each other.

For some collector, this will be an absolutely huge find. Hundreds of people are watching the item, so it definitely means something to a lot of people. And I certainly don't think another movie prop buyer is looking for a $1200 fake rock. I'd love to see where it ends up. Probably somewhere on a shelf, behind some glass...

Okay...maybe I've collected a few Simpsons things over the years. Cartoons are as collectible as it gets.
