Island Fire Crews Battling Fire Thursday Morning

Fire Departments from Mount Desert, Southwest Harbor, Bar Harbor and Tremont were toned out at around 6 AM Thursday morning, May 11th to battle a structure fire on the Sand Point Road in Mount Desert.

The structure fire was on Long Pond just past Camp Beech Cliff. As of 7:40 AM firefighters were still on scene and a member of the fire marshall's department was expected to be on scene around 11:30 this morning.
