“Into the Woods” Opens

Make sure you head to "Into the Woods" this weekend or next, at MDI High School.

The Mount Desert Island High School Drama Department presents “Into the Woods” November Friday and Saturday nights November 10th and 17th and 18th at 7 PM and matinee showings at 2 PM on Saturday November 11th, Sunday November 12th and Saturday the 18th.

“Once upon a time . . .” is the beginning of many a bedtime story for many of us. It is also the beginning of the Broadway musical Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim (music & lyrics) and James Lapine (book & direction). In a twist of genius they combine the stories of Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and the newly invented Baker and His Wife into a story of deceit, dreams fulfilled and broken, wishes, death, deception, magic and almost happily ever after.” – Bruce Janiga
