Happy Birthday Stephen King

Happy Birthday to Stephen King who is 68 today. King was born on September 21, 1947. King a prolific writer has also been a tremendous benefactor for the City of Bangor. His many acts of charity are well documented, but what's not publicized are the many donations that he and his family have made anonymously, that have made our community a better place.

I remember many years ago, stopping at the Kennebunk rest area, and Stephen King was coming out of the rest room, and he was surrounded by autograph seekers. In Bangor, he may get a double or triple glance when he walks into a store or a restaurant but for the most part people treat him like everyone else, and that's what makes Bangor so great!
