Today is our 26th Wedding Anniversary and I told my wife, Bonnie that I loved her more than I did 26 years ago when we were married on June 25, 1988, if that's possible.

I was looking on the internet about  26th Anniversary gifts and a website said that the 26th Anniversary was often a year of adjustment. I just started laughing, because for 26 years we have both been making adjustments, and accepting each others faults and making each other better. That's how we've been married for 26 years!

I made a big deal about our 25th Anniversary, counting down to it, telling different stories, last year. Even though I didn't do it this year, I remember the day I first met Bonnie, when I went out to interview to manage the National Hotel on Block Island, and Bonnie who was the special education teacher at the Block Island School was waitressing that night. I saw her, and it was like fireworks went off in my eyes, and I fell in love at first sight! That's why I took the job :)

When she walked down the aisle the day of our wedding, I remember like it was yesterday, that I couldn't breathe for a moment. My breath was just taken away by how beautiful she was. 26 years later, I'm still amazed at how beautiful she is. She truly is my best friend, my better half, and my soul mate.

Here's to 26 years more together!
