Congratulations to Anthony Kimball who was named Hancock County Technical Center's (HCTC) Student of the Year for the 2025-26 school year!

Kimball, is a  third-year standout in the Culinary Arts program, and will be recognized for his exceptional achievements and leadership at the Maine Association for Career and Technical Education (MACTE) Student of the Year Banquet on May 2nd at the Johnston Gym on the Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) campus.

Kimball has established a reputation for being "locked in" to his craft. His journey at HCTC has been defined by a relentless work ethic and a transition from a dedicated student to a recognized leader within the kitchen and the classroom. Often the last to leave the building each day, Kimball’s commitment to the culinary vocation is reflected in his deep sense of responsibility and his role as a mentor to his peers.

Kimball’s impact on the HCTC community extends beyond his culinary skills. He has served as a vital student representative on both the Culinary Arts Advisory Committee and the HCTC Building Committee. His competitive accomplishments include winning bronze medals at the ProStart Culinary Maine State competition as a sophomore and in the Restaurant Service category at the SkillsUSA State competition as a senior.

Academically, Kimball has demonstrated a high level of discipline by completing independent college-level coursework in Accounting and Nutrition while maintaining a full high school schedule. He also recently completed a successful internship at 86This!, earning professional accolades and a summer job offer in the process. He is also a mainstay volunteer at our Middle School camp each year.

Following his graduation this spring, Kimball will continue his journey toward becoming a professional chef at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York.
