After waking up this morning to pouring rain, we could only hope that the weather forecast would hold true and that the night would be good for trick-or-treaters! At least in Bangor, it was, and with temperatures in the lower 50's it was ideal for trick-or-treating.

The wind had blown all the leave piles out of the street, so it was perfect for all the little ghouls and goblins to get from house to house. I remember when Craig was little having to carry him and his walker over the leaf piles! And there were many years when Craig and Collin had to wear snowsuits under their costumes

Trick or treating started shortly before 5 p.m. and the last was Todd Simcox at around 7:30 p.m. Yep... Channel 5 and the CW's Meteorologist Todd Simcox came by for a Snicker's bar! October 31st and Todd's still in shorts! Of course his wife Lena, and daughter Molly and two of her friends came by too! Molly even convinced me to be in my first and quite possibly only TikTok video!

We have a tradition at our house... We hand out big bars of candy, and let the kids pick from a selection.

It's kind of fun to hear the kids think that they're whispering but telling their parents excitedly "Oh my God they've got big bars of candy!" or when they come back year after year with their friends and tell them "See, I told you that they were handing out big bars of candy!"

It was so nice to have a "normal" Halloween after last year, having to pass out candy down a PVC chute.

The costumes were great! Check out some of the kids (and parents) dressed up that came to visit!
