GSA in Blue Hill Transitions to Remote Learning for 2 Weeks
Tim Seeley the Head of School at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill sent a letter to parents, students and staff on Saturday, January 23rd informing them that the school would be transitioning to full remote learning for 2 weeks given the outbreaks of COVID-19 associated with the school.
There have been at least 3 cases of COVID-19 associated with GSA within the last 14 days. This is the threshold to declare an outbreak associated with the school. The decision to go full remote was made by Mr. Seeley in keeping with the guidance and recommendation of the Maine CDC and the Coronavirus Response Team at George Stevens Academy.
There will be no remote learning on Monday and Tuesday to allow staff to prepare for the transition to full remote. There will be remote classes Wednesday-Friday January 27-29th. The following week there will be remote classes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday, February 3rd is set aside for office hours, with teachers available for students remotely.
Please remember to wear your masks, wash your hands and stay socially distant.
