Garrett Crochet to Start for Boston Monday Afternoon at 1 p.m.

Garrett Crochet will make his 3rd start of Spring Training, today, Monday March 9th when the Boston Red Sox takes on the Philadelphia Phillies at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370.

Crochet has pitched 4.2 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 runs, all earned in his 2 previous starts, striking out 3 and walking 1. He has been tabbed to open the season for the Red Sox when they begin the regular season in 17 days at Cincinnati on March 26th.

Boston will also send Zack Kelly (5th appearances, 2 runs), Seth Martinez (6th appearance, 6 runs) Ryan Watson ( 6th appearance, 6 runs), Tayron Guerrero (6th appearance, 2 runs) and Tyler Samaniego (1 appearance, 0 runs) to the mound.

The Red Sox lot to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday 9-7. Mickey Gaspar hit a 2-run homer, driving in 2 runs. Andrue Monasterio was 2-2 with a run batted in. On the mound, Jake Bennett started and allowed 2 hits and 2 earned runs in 1.2 innings, striking out 2.
