Friday December 18 – Ugly Sweater Day

Start combing through the closets and up in the attic! You need to find that ugly sweater that you wear just once a year! Friday, December 18th is Ugly Sweater Day and the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce wants your picture in your "finest"!

Since 2015, the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce has championed Ugly Sweater Day! Back then they held the first City Wide Ugly Sweater day, and an attempt at the  Guinness Book of World Records.  Schools, businesses, organizations and individuals joined in, including Ellsworth's Legal Community doing a group photo on the Court House steps.

Gretchen Wilson, the Ellsworth Chamber Director said " Unfortunately a Guinness World Record required bringing in officials and a lot of 'red tape' to qualify. We have settled for being the most spirited town in Maine, instead on the official Ugly Christmas Sweater Day each year. "

With restrictions on gathering size, and many businesses closed to the public, the Chamber is asking for emailed photos to add to their Facebook page on Friday December 18th. Photos may be emailed to Info@ellsworthchamber.org
