The First Congregational Church of Ellsworth served their 100th Public Supper on Saturday, October 25th.

Located on Church Street in Ellsworth, the Public Suppers are served 9 times a year, February thru November. This year the Suppers were $12.00 per person with a family price of $25.00. Suppers rotate between Roast Turkey, Roast Pork and Ham with a special Haddock Supper served in July. Included with the entree are two vegetables, Caesar Salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, beverages and homemade pies.

And let me tell you about the pies! They are so popular, that many of the attendees go up and get their heaping pie slice before dinner is even served! They are so popular that you are given a pie ticket when you arrive, which you have to hand over when you pick your piece of pie!

The kitchen crew worked like a fine-oiled machine, and you could tell they had done this before! They told stories and joked as they worked efficiently throughout the minutes before the meal was set to be served.

The First Congregational Church of Ellsworth has just welcomed a new minister, Reverend Andy Elliott. He was there with his wife Amber, his first public supper as full-time minister.

The basement was full, 10 minutes before Saturday night's Turkey Supper was set to begin and they were having people set up in an overflow room!

The First Congregational Church broadcasts their Sunday services at 10 a.m. on WDEA AM 1370 and it may also be heard on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device. The Church also live-steams their service on their Facebook Page.
