Red Sox Rally to Sweep Yankees 5-4 in 10 Innings [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox rallied to score 3 runs in the 10th inning to beat the New York Yankees 5-4 at Fenway Park on Sunday, June 28th It was their 1st 4-game sweep of the Yankees since August 2018!

Sonny Gray was absolutely amazing on the mound, taking a no hitter into the 8th inning. He ended up with a no-decision pitching 7.1 inning, allowing just 1 hit, walking 1 and striking out 9. He retired 22 of the 1st 23 batters he faced. He recorded his 2000th career, striking out Spencer Jones in the 8th inning.

Caleb Durbin hit a 2-run single in the 4th inning to give Boston a 2-0 lead. He stole 2nd and 3rd base before being stranded on 3rd.

Aroldis Chapman recorded his 1,353rd career strikeout, tying Hoyt Wilhelm for the most in relief in Major League Baseball history.

Masataka Yorshida hit a pinch-hit double in the 10th. Anthony Siegler hit a RBI single in the 10th inning.

Jarren Duran, was 1-2 and hit a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning.

Prior to the game the Red Sox optioned Mickey Gaspar back down to Worcester and activated Romy Gonzalez from the 60 day injured list. Gonzalez was the designated hitter and was 0-4.
