Ellsworth’s Free Summertime Movie Series Announced

The City of Ellsworth will be showing FREE Family-Friendly movies on Thursday nights July 18-August 22nd at dusk at Knowlton Park.

Pack the blankets, lawn chairs and bug spray and snacks and get ready to have a great time!  There will be concessions available.

Here's the schedule of the movies.

Thursday July 18th - Migration  (Sunset 8:13 p.m. )

This 2023 animated adventure comedy follows a family of mallards who try to convince their overprotective father to go on a vacation of a lifetime and attempt to migrate from New England through New York City to Jamaica. Rated PG with a running time of 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Thursday July 25 - The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Sunset 8:07 p.m.)

The 2023 animated adventure comedy film is based on Nintendo's Mario video game franchise. Mario and Luigi are transported to a fantasy world and become entangled in a battle between the Mushroom Kingdom led by Princess Peach and the Koopas, led by Bowser. Rated PG with a running time of 1 hour and 32 minutes

Thursday, August 1 - Wonka (Sunset 7:58 p.m.) 

Wonka is a 2023 musical fantasy comedy film. It tells the origin story of Willy Wonka, depicting his early days as a chocolatier. This is the 3rd live-action film based on Roald Dahl's book, following Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and the Chocolate Factory. The film is rated PG and has a running time of 1 hour and 56 minutes.

Thursday August 15 Tolls 3 (Sunset 7:38 p.m.)

Trolls Band Together is this 2023 American animated jukebox musical comedy based on the Good Luck Trolls dolls from Thomas Dam. If the film Branch and Poppy, who are officially a couple, attempt to rescue Floyd while reuniting Branch's brothers after the boyband phenomenon BroZone was disbanded. Rated PG with a running time of 1 hour and 31 minutes.

Thursday, August 22 - Disney's Little Mermaid (Sunset 7:27 p.m.)

Disney's Little Mermaid was released in 1989 and tells the story of a teenage mermaid princess named Ariel, who dreams of becoming human and falls in love with a human prince named Erick, which leads her to make a magic deal with the sea witch Ursula, to become human and be with him. Rated G with a running time of 1 hour and 23 minutes.
