According to Coach Jim Goodman, " Ellie has performed in an exceptional manner as a student athlete with the Ellsworth High School Girls’ Swim Team.  She holds three team individual team records, and helped set three team relay records this season.  Most recently, she finished in second place in two individual events at the Penobscot Valley Conference (PVC) Championship this season in the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke.  A week later, she continued her swimming prowess with a fifth place finish in the 50 Free, and second for a silver medal in the 100 Backstroke at the Class B State Championship.  She holds the team record in both events, along with the 100 Freestyle.  She was also a key member of two championship level relays helping to win a second place in the 200 Medley Relay, and a first the 200 Free Relay at the conference championship.  Those two relays went on to States to win a fifth place bronze medal in the 200 Medley relay, and a third place bronze medal in the 200 Free Relay.  She was also a member of a team record setting 400 Free Relay earlier in the season.   She is a most versatile swimmer as she qualified for State competition in every swimming event except one, and is listed in the top State 16 swimmers in five events.

Ellie’s continued efforts helped the team win seven out of nine dual meets.  She is exceptionally enthusiastic about swimming, the team, and encourages others to succeed.  Dedicated to the sport, Ellie strikes a mature balance as a student-athlete, and orchestrates her busy schedule of school activities, academics, and swimming.
