Ellsworth Volleyball Falls to Messalonskee 3-0

Ellsworth played Messalonskee in Oakland Wednesday night, October 5th and lost in straight sets:, losing to the Eagles 14-25, 13-25 and 17-25.

Individual Ellsworth standouts:

• Olivia Harmon: 1 ace, 1 kill, 10 assists, 9 digs.
• Jocelyn Scully: 4 aces, 8 digs.
• Lauren Young: 1 ace, 10 digs.
• Ava VanDorn: 3 assists and 8 digs.
• Sophie Beal: 2 kills, 2 blocks, 1 assist and 7 digs.
• Brielle Grindle: 7 kills, 2 digs.

Coach Dyer said

“Our energy and hustle were high but we struggled to take the initiative and generate more kills. We spent too much energy defending their attack and as a result found ourselves struggling to score.”

Ellsworth now 6-4 will travel to Gardiner on Tuesday, October 10th to play the Tigers at 5 p.m.

Messalonskee is 10-0 and will host MDI on Friday, October 6th at 5 p.m.
