Ellsworth Swim and Dive Opens Season with Win Over GSA

The Ellsworth High School Swim and Dive Teams opened with impressive wins over George Stevens Academy on Friday, December 10th at the Downeast Family YMCA. The Girl's Team won 119-22 while the Boy's Team won 91-22.

According to Ellsworth Coach James Goodman, 15 Ellsworth Girls and 6 Ellsworth Boys qualified for the State meet with qualifying times. In addition GSA had 2 swimmers qualify in 3 events. This was the first in-person dual meet since February 202 and the deck was loud and there was continuous cheering for all swimmers!

There are currently 11 swimmers on the Ellsworth Boy's Team and 16 girls on the Ellsworth Girl's Team. Ellsworth also has a new Assistant Coach, Leslie Billings, who is also a Math Teacher at Ellsworth High School.

Ellsworth is back in the pool on Friday December 17th when they compete against Hampden Academy. The meet will be live streamed HERE
