The Ellsworth Eagles beat the George Stevens Academy Eagles 18-2 in the Battle of Eagles on Friday, May 17th in Blue Hill. The game was shortened to 5 innings because of the mercy rule

Trintity Montigny pace the Ellsworth batting attack, going 4-4 with 3 singles and a triple.Sara Shea had 2 singles, Sydney Stevens had a double and Kayla Duhaime and Ellie Clarke each had a single. Clarke had 2 stolen bases. Montigny and Shea each swiped 1 bag.

Kenzi Chipman was in the circle for Ellsworth. She struck out 9 and walked 2, allowing 5 hits.

Sophie Peasley started in the circle for GSA. She struck out 4 walking 6, allowing 12 runs, 8 earned and 6 hits in 3.1 innings. Abbie Keenan threw 1 inning, walking 6, giving up 3 hits, and 4 runs.Mallory Charette threw the final .2 innings, striking out 1, walking 2, giving up 1 hit and 2 runs.

Peasely had 2 of GSA hits. Heather Munroe, Saylor Grant and Sarah Chambers singled.

Ellsworth is now 8-3 and will play host to John Bapst on Monday, May 20th at 4:30
