Ellsworth Road Closure and Water Main Break [UPDATE]

11 a.m. update Monday, July 25th The water main on State Street has been repaired and the road is open. Water Department customers on State Street between the Church and School Street intersections are under a boil water order. A boil water order means that all water used for consumption must be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before consumption.

Ellsworth Public Works and Water Department personnel are working Sunday evening, July 24th in the heat to fix a water main break on State Street near the intersection of Birch Avenue.

According to the City of Ellsworth's Facebook Page As of 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 24th "State Street is currently closed between its intersection with School Street and Church Street. It is possible that a boil water order will be needed for some city water customers."
