The Ellsworth Eagles Baseball Team improved to 13-1 on the season as Matt Burnett pitched a no-hitter on Tuesday, May 22nd in Bucksport and the Eagles beat the Golden Bucks 11-0 in a mercy rule shortened game.

Burnett struck out 13 and didn't walk a batter. He struck out the side in the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th innings.

The Eagles scored 1 run in the 1st inning, 4 runs in the 2nd inning and 6 runs in the 3rd inning when they sent 9 batters to the plate.

The Eagles banged out 7 hits, including back to back to back doubles in the 3rd inning by Sam Horne, Matt Burnett and Jackson Curtis. Bradly Smith tripled. Austin Baron, Devin Grindle and Connor Wagstaff all singled.

Ellsworth will play host to Hermon on Thursday, May 24th at 4:30 PM and then plays host to MDI on Tuesday, May 29th in the final regular season game with a special start time of 4 PM. Bucksport 7-6 plays at Dexter Friday May 25th at 4:30 PM.
